K.I.S.S. Club is a service organization of trained student volunteers who provide fitness and nutrition classes for their school and community.

The club is teacher guided and student led. To get kids moving, K.I.S.S. directors fuse the traditional way of playing with technology. Glow in the dark jump ropes, hula-hoops, gravity boots, and electrifying "Zumba" style dancing is all it takes to engage the participants. Highlights are then shared via social media & YouTube. Students often take the necessary 10,000 steps required by physicians in one 90-minute session.

Give them a K.I.S.S. and Call Me in the Morning

According to research with the Academy of American Pediatrics, “Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical , cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development.”
Nurse practitioner, Maggie Payne of Dahlonega, Georgia confesses that she struggles with providing workable/doable strategies to parents whose children are overweight. “Many live below the poverty level and can’t afford to enroll their child in after school programs or at the local YMCA.” Payne says that a K.I.S.S. Club in schools across America would enable her and other physicians to write a prescription to play after school. An easier solution than the usual 30 to 60-minute workout plan often prescribed. “This would mean parents could sign their child up for free after school play several days a week. Parents would be able to produce weekly data for the physician tracking their child’s physical activity.”

So, What is K.I.S.S. Club?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
